Setting up Thunderbird

Instructions

Here are the steps to configure Thunderbird (This example is for Thunderbird on Mac. However, on other OS is similar):

  1. Launch Thunderbird.
  2. Go to Tools > Account Settings.



  3. Click Add Mail Account...



  4. Enter your Email address and password. (All input on this article is only example)



  5. Thunderbird will provide a recommended configuration for you. However, please click Manual config to configure it manually.



  6. The configuration will be split into two different settings, POP3 and IMAP. Follow below steps for POP3 settings :

    • Fill up the server information like shows in the picture. Your server hostname will be found in your Account Information email, mail.domain.com and smtp.domain.com are only example. Choose POP3 as the incoming protocol.



    • Tick I understand the risk and click Done to complete the configuration.



    To setup an IMAP account, please follow below steps :

    • Fill up the server information like shows in the picture. Your server hostname will be found in your Account Information email, mail.domain.com and smtp.domain.com are only example. Choose IMAP as the incoming protocol.



    • Tick I understand the risk and click Done to complete the configuration.
